Tugby Heritage & History Group

Tugby Heritage & History Group on 4th March held its inaugural open meeting in the church where 44 people attended a talk given by Geoff Rowden entitled ‘Lay of the Land’. Using post-war ariel photographs, historical maps and archived historical records, he illustrated how Tugby had changed since Roman times, describing the rich heritage found (and some subsequently lost) in and around the parish.  He then went on to identify land within the parish with visible signs of archaeology waiting to be discovered. After questions and a vote of thanks, everyone was invited to stay for light refreshments and to look at the reference material Geoff had prepared.

If you are interested in coming along to one of these meeting, you can look out for notices of forthcoming events through this website or by email tugbyheritage@gmail.com or Tugby Together Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/TugbyTogether/
